Psilocybe azurescens is a woodlover mushroom and grows naturally in the North american West Coast in places like California, Oregon, Washington an British Columbia.
They both can be found in woodchips, sandy soils rich in ligneous debris, in lignicoulus woody flotsam washed downriver and along the coastal shoreline together with a grass named Ammophila maritima.
