Psilocybe subcubensis is an entheogenic mushroom species in the Hymenogastraceae family, known for containing the psychoactive compounds psilocybin and psilocin. First described by Mexican mycologist Gastón Guzmán, it is considered the pantropical sister species of Psilocybe cubensis. While visually identical to P. cubensis, Psilocybe subcubensis is distinguished by its smaller spores.
