Like other Psilocybe cubensis strains, it contains the psychoactive compounds psilocybin and psilocin, which induce hallucinogenic effects. However, the Warpspeed stands out due to its intense blue discoloration when bruised or injured, a phenomenon caused by the enzymatic oxidation of psilocybin into psilocin and subsequent oligomerization into quinoid compounds.
